The Heart of Healing

I am convinced that healing and restoration are birthed out of intimacy with God. Intimacy with the God that sits upon the throne of your heart. Intimacy with the Word as it penetrates your heart and soul.

There are many methods that God has provided for healing. The Bible says that, “. . . they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The laying on of hands by believers is very common in our church services but does not necessarily require faith from the person in need of healing or intimacy between that person and God. Healing can manifest itself in a church service in those that are not born again as well as in those that are born again yet have not established an intimate relationship with God. These people are healed through the corporate anointing and faith of the believers that are attending the service, but often times they lose their healing because the Word of God is not rooted in their hearts and souls.

When the Word of God is embedded in your heart, your faith in God rises, and it is second nature to turn to God first when you need healing.

Proverbs 4:20 tells us to “. . . give attention to [God’s Word]; incline your ear to [His] sayings, do not let [His Word] depart from your eyes, keep [His Word] in the midst of your heart.” If you do these things, the outcome, in verse 22 is “. . . life to those that find [His Words] and health to all of [your] flesh.”

Joshua 1:8 tells you to “meditate in [the Word] day and night . . . for then you will make you way prosperous and . . . have good success.”

Just as you find it difficult to trust a person that you do not know, you cannot trust God without knowing Him, who He is, how much he loves you, and what He has provided for you through His death, burial, and resurrection. When you know God intimately, you automatically trust Him no matter what happens. You realize that he is the answer to your problem rather than the one that causes your problems. And you run to him with arms opened wide when faced with physical sickness or pain.

Tell yourself that you have victory because you know your Father. He is good and only wants good for you. He knows everything about you and concerns Himself with everything that concerns you. How can a God that loves you so much fail you when you put your trust in Him? He is beckoning you to come closer. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

Learn to commune with God in and through His Word and walk in intimate fellowship with Him. Meditate in His Word daily. Then you will know that you know that you know that he is on your side and will turn every circumstance and situation around for your good.
