The Giving Heart of God

“According to your faith be it unto you”
(Matthew 9:29)
John 3:16 reveals the true heart of God as the Greatest Giver of all time: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believed on him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Such a loving, caring God that He would be willing to give His son, Jesus, to suffer and pay the price for our redemption from sin. But that redemption goes beyond forgiveness of sin. It also includes redemption and deliverance from sickness and disease.
In Romans 10:8-9 we are told that whoever shall confess Jesus as our Lord we will be saved. The word for “saved” is the Greek word sozo and it means forgiven of sins, healed, delivered, and made whole. This is quite a gift! All of these blessings wrapped in one gift and made ours by simply believing and accepting. God truly has a giving heart. He is the Great Gift-Giver.
In Deuteronomy 230:19, the Lord says, “He has set before us life and death, blessings and cursings”…to choose which you will accept. God wants us to accept the good gifts He has provided, including healing, health, and life. We just need to be willing to ACCEPT the gifts.
James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
God is good, kind, merciful, and compassionate. He gives good gifts. The scriptures says ALL good gifts from Him. This obviously means He is not withholding any good gift from us. It is up to us to receive the gifts He offers.
Jesus told us very clearly that it is the enemy who comes to “steal, kill and destroy”. These are the kinds of “gifts” the devil tries to get us to accept…evil, destructive, and deadly “gifts” of sickness, disease, pain, suffering, and even death. But the good news is Jesus said He came to give us life and have it abundantly. That is, a life that is “good,” enjoyable, and free from the treacherous acts of the enemy!
Sickness is evil… so it cannot be from God because “every good gift” comes from Him.
Healing is a good gift. Jesus bought and paid for it at the whipping post before going to the Cross of Calvary. Isaiah 53:4-5 says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs (sicknesses), and carried our sorrows (pains): yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
How do you receive the precious gift of healing the Lord has provided for you? By faith. The Bible says that everything we receive from God is by faith and faith alone. Mark 11:23 says that if we believe, we will receive. God has offered the gift of healing to you. Reach out and by faith receive it. Then begin to praise and thank Him for the wonderful gift. It will bless the heart of God that you have believed and received His gift of healing.
