Speak Life

If God wants me healed, why hasn’t he done anything to help me?

The answer is… He has.

The ball is now in our court, the responsibility is now ours to either receive what God has done or reject it. We have spiritual authority over our own lives and we exercise that authority through our voice. The scripture is full of examples of words releasing the power of God into a situation: God said to the unformed universe, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3), Jesus said to the storm, “Peace be still” (Mark 4:39), Peter said to the lame man, “Rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). The list goes on and on.

As a child of God, we must know who we are and recognize that when we speak in agreement with God, our words have power. Likewise, when we agree with the enemy and talk about the symptoms or say how things will not change, we give Satan a license to continue infecting our lives with sickness and disease.

A policeman has authority from the government to stop criminals, maintain traffic laws and protect citizens. However, if a policeman never exercises his authority and refuses to confront problems that arise, crime will continue to flourish. God has stated many times in the Word that sickness has no right in your body. You have a God-given right to walk in divine health all the days of your life. You are the “policeman” over your life and have the responsibility to keep your body a symptom-free zone (Luke 10:19). That does not mean that sickness will never try to trespass and attack your body. However, it certainly does not have to stay.

So how do you walk in this authority?

First of all, find out what the Bible says about healing. If you do not know what the Bible says, you cannot use it to confront your situation. Whether one scripture or several, begin speaking what God says about healing over yourself. It is important that you say aloud what God says about you. Our words our powerful (Proverbs 18:21) and your body will respond to your voice.

What if I don’t believe what I’m saying?

The answer is… say it anyway. As you hear yourself continually speak God’s Word, you will begin to believe it. As you believe God’s Word, it will produce results in you.

Your situation is not hopeless. God has not left you without His help. He will strengthen you; He will encourage you. The way you feel today is subject to change. God has good things planned for your future (Jeremiah 29:11). The words you speak today will create your tomorrow, so speak life.

Make up your mind to speak the Word of God and refuse to speak in agreement with the enemy.

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Psalm 107:20
