God Said “No”

I had been a member of Whole Life Ministries for 17 years, before becoming a participant in the Healing Center. I had been sitting under Pastor Kennedy’s teaching, hearing the word taught without compromise. I was growing in faith and my mind was being renewed. I had attended the Healing Explosions, Healing Conferences, and had been there when Pastor Kennedy and Rev. Velda did special teachings on healing. I believed in healing and that God was still healing today (Hebrews 13:8). I decided to attend the Healing Center as a participant after being diagnosed with hypertension. I signed up to attend two days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and was there for six weeks. I would sit in the classes, listen, take notes, and write the prescription for the day on my Word Administration Record (WAR) sheet. The prescription was a scripture given to us each day pertaining to healing. Some of the scriptures that had been impressed upon my heart were Psalm 107:20, Proverbs 4: 20-22, and Mark 11:23-24

I read over my notes and confessed the prescription daily at home. I was following the guidelines laid out for me. At the end of the 6 weeks, I was talking with the Lord, and I told him I would stop attending the Healing Center. I clearly heard the Lord tell me “No, you can quote the Word about healing, but it has not entered your heart.” I was surprised because I really believed that I had the Word firmly planted in my heart. However, God knows my heart better that I do. I told the Lord that I would stay in the Healing Center for as long as it took me for me to believe in my heart. I continued to attend the Healing Center for one year. During that time, I became a member of the Healing team and a regular volunteer. As part of my volunteer training, I listened to over forty teachings, three times each. I would listen through the first time, the second time I would take notes, and the third time I would listen with my notes. Through this process, the Word of God truly imprinted itself on my heart. This time I invested produced such an understanding in me of the Word that I could apply to my life as well as teach to others.

Presently, I am still an active volunteer at the Healing Center. As a member of Whole Life, I never had any hesitation about taking part in the benefits of the Healing Center. I knew the value of the Word being taught there, that it would “quicken my mortal body” (Romans 8:11) and bring produce health. To this day, I am thankful that I was obedient to what God told me and remained in the Healing Center. I encourage you to make an investment in your healing today. As I did, make a decision to inundate yourself with the Word of God to the point it becomes real in your heart. Your health will change, your witness to others will change and you will fall more in love with Jesus. I encourage you to take part in all that the Healing Center has to offer and be open to what the Lord tells you. It will change your life, just as it has changed mine.
