God Can Be Trusted

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” Hebrews 10:23, NLT
God can be trusted to keep His promise.
That one little sentence is what sinks the ship. Most of us are not sure that God’s promises are true for today or that His promises are true for us. That is an incredible question to deal with: Are God’s promises true right now, for me?
God’s Word says over and over again that God cannot lie. It does not say that He would not lie, but that He cannot lie. It is impossible for God to lie. It is impossible for Him to mislead you. There is no surer foundation to stand on than the Word of God. This is something I have to remind myself of often: “God really does tell the truth.”
Now, all of us would agree that God does not lie. The problem is our flesh tells us something different. Whether it is pain in your body, something you can see or feel, we have to deal with realities contrary to what God says. God calls me “healed” and yet my body says I am sick. When this battle rages, you must determine who you will listen to. Faith is making up your mind that what the Bible says is more important than what your body is saying.
Your release your faith by speaking. That is why it is so important that you say out loud what you have determined to believe. God can be trusted to keep His promise, so all I need is to find a promise. “God cannot lie.” When symptoms come and your confession is questioned, you must then hold tight in your faith. “I cannot waver.”
“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36, NLT
There is a great reward in trusting God. Make up your mind to be patient. God is not a microwave God, but God is always faithful. If He said it, He will do it. He will do it for YOU. Whatever you are standing in faith for, hell is going to try to knock you off your feet. No matter what, do not change your confession. Keep standing. God is worth trusting. He will not disappoint you. Say over yourself, “God is on my side. He is always looking after me and knows what’s best for me. Whatever God’s best is for me is what will come my way. I will be patient, I will not waver, because God cannot lie. I can trust Him to keep His promise.”
