Authority Over Sickness

The power of the Blood of Jesus never fails. Recently I was getting into my vehicle and slipped on some leaves on the pavement. I lost my balance and fell on the cement, scraping my right hand, hitting my right knee and elbow.

Instead of moaning or complaining about what had just happened or focusing on the pain, I immediately applied the Blood of Jesus to my hand. There was an area where the skin had been scrapped. Within minutes my hand was completely healed!

Later that evening, my knee and elbow were sore. I took authority over those areas and stood on God’s Word that says, “I am healed by the stripes of Jesus.” I know God has given believers power and authority. In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, “Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.” I like the way The Passion Translation states it: “Now you understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority.” God does not want anything to harm us, but we have to take that authority over our bodies and command them to line up with His Word. It takes believing what God says and doing what His Word says. The next morning, my elbow and knee were both totally healed, in Jesus name. Glory to God!

It is so wonderful to know that the Lord loves us and only wants good things for us, including healing. Jesus said that “the enemy only comes to steal, kill and destroy but He [Jesus] has come so that we might have life and have it more abundantly.” That means we do not have to endure sickness, disease, pain or afflictions.

Jesus has given us the power of His Word, His Name and His Blood to overcome every form of evil including sickness and affliction. He loves us so much that His great desire is that we be healed and made whole and become a living testimony of His great love.
