Nuggets of Truth
Four Guidelines Concerning Prayer – Dr. Sandra G. Kennedy
1. When you pray: be specific with your requests. Find God’s promise pertaining to your request in His Word about what you’re asking for and then pray in accordance with that Word.
John 16: 23-24 (NKJV) “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you
Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
2. Believe God heard your request.
I John 5:13-14 (NKJV) These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God.
3. Stand on the Word, resist any kind of doubt that comes your way and resist anything that contradicts what God said. This means: guard your thought life.
II Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV) …casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.
4. Think about, consider, stand on and meditate on the Word. Focus on the Word, keep it in front of you and refuse to be moved off of it! See yourself with the answer you’re looking for. Have a thankful heart. Thank God that He heard you. Thank God that He’s faithful. Make sure that when you speak about it speak in faith and then don’t contradict yourself with your mouth. So if you believe God’s done something then don’t talk as if He hasn’t done it. Stay with it!
Proverbs 4:20-22 (NLT) Pay attention, my child, to what I say. Listen carefully.
Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
Proverbs 8:21a (NKJV) Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue
| LIES OF REJECTION |
|
At some time in life, everyone has to deal with rejection. We must know how to fight this spirit of rejection so that when the devil targets us he will not succeed in stealing our joy and victory. There are ten major truths that will give you victory in dealing with rejection. They are found in Ephesians 1:3-14. Here are five of those truths. 1. GOD CHOSE YOU! (Ephesians 1:3-4) It is quite normal for us to think that we are of little or no value when we are mistreated by others. We tend to search our own selves for shortcomings. We must choose to remember that God Himself says that He picked us out for Himself as His own – In Christ before the foundation of the world. Don’t ever buy into the lie that you are not of value. How valuable you are!! God in heaven sitting on His throne has your name written in the palm of His hand and He chose you! 2. HE ADOPTED YOU! (Ephesians 1:5) It was His kind intent. Your parents may not have cared for you and your family may have told you that you weren’t wanted. God Almighty wants you and adopted you. You are not without family. I know how it feels to be rejected by your family. Once I found my worth in Him, I became more valuable to other people. Others will value you when you know who you are! 3. YOU ARE ACCEPTED! (Ephesians 1:6) Remember – You are accepted in the Beloved. The One who matters most accepts you! Not only does He love you, He likes you. That’s important. He knows you and likes you anyway. 4. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! (Ephesians 1:10) He promised to bring us all together in Him. You are not going to be out there all by yourself. We are going to be altogether in Him. We are going to be a family. He promised that. When we get to Heaven, we are going to know folks. We are going to be together. 5. HE BRANDED YOU! (Ephesians 1:12-13) You have been branded. You may ask if there is any proof that you belong to God. Yes, you have been sealed and branded with the Holy Spirit! Isn’t that wonderful? There are times when we forget that we are branded by God. When you brand a cow, the brand goes in deep enough that it cannot be washed or rubbed off. When the Holy Spirit brands us, the brand is on the inside of us. A skin graft or an accident can’t remove the part of you that was branded. You are branded deep within. For the message in its entirety, please order CD# SK2027 |
